Why Visit Manuel Antonio with a Local Guide

Walking through Manuel Antonio on your own is beautiful. Walking it with a local naturalist guide is a different experience altogether.

Our guides spend countless hours in the park. They recognize subtle movements in the canopy, faint calls in the distance, and small details that most visitors would miss.

They also work as a team: when one guide spots a sloth, a troop of capuchin monkeys or a rare bird, they share the information with others.

This means more chances to see wildlife—and not just see it, but understand it. Behavior, habits, curiosities, and stories that bring the forest to life.

If your goal is to truly experience Manuel Antonio, not just walk through it, a guided tour makes all the difference.

7:10 a.m. - Pickup Time

Your guide meets you at your accommodation and begins the day with a brief introduction to the park’s conditions, wildlife activity and what to expect during the experience.

7:50 a.m. – Arrival at Manuel Antonio National Park

We reach the entrance of the park, take a short bathroom break and go over essential guidelines for the visit. Your guide will explain the route, the best wildlife spots and how the team of guides collaborates inside the park to increase the chances of sightings.

10:15 a.m. – End of the Trail + Break

After exploring the main trails and observing wildlife, we exit the forested area. There’s time for bathrooms and a quick stop at the cafeteria for snacks or refreshments.
Depending on the season and the park’s occupancy, the snack break may take place right after finishing the trail or at the end of the entire experience, once we exit the park. This flexibility ensures the best flow for wildlife watching and avoids crowding during peak visitation hours.

10:25 a.m. – Beach & Ocean Time

Enjoy one of Manuel Antonio’s stunning beaches. The warm turquoise water, soft sand and surrounding rainforest create a perfect moment to relax, swim or simply take in the scenery.

11:10 a.m. – Walk Toward the Park Exit

We begin the return walk at a relaxed pace. Your guide will continue pointing out wildlife along the way, as animals often appear near the exit trails.

12:00 p.m. – Exit the National Park

We leave the park and coordinate transportation back to your accommodation or next activity.
