Why a Night Walk?

The rainforest at night is a completely different world. Species that remain quiet during the day become active, and the forest reveals details that are impossible to notice under sunlight. A night walk is ideal for travelers who enjoy slow, attentive exploration and want to understand how the ecosystem behaves after dark.

Why with a Local Expert Guide?

Your guide’s trained eye makes all the difference.
They recognize subtle movements, faint calls, reflections in the leaves and patterns that indicate where animals are hiding. Guides also communicate with each other inside the reserve, sharing sightings in real time.
This teamwork increases the chances of observing wildlife and ensures a safe, well‑paced experience.

A guided night walk is not just about seeing animals — it’s about understanding them.

5:30 p.m. – Pickup at Your Hotel

We pick you up at your accommodation in Manuel Antonio or Quepos and drive to the private reserve. Your guide will explain what to expect and how the forest behaves at night.

6:00 p.m. – Start of the Night Walk

We enter the reserve and begin the walk along safe, well‑maintained trails. The pace is relaxed, allowing time to observe wildlife and listen to the forest.

Wildlife Watching Moments Depending on the night and season, you may encounter frogs, snakes, insects, spiders, owls, sleeping birds, nocturnal mammals and other species that only appear after sunset. Your guide will use professional flashlights and UV light to reveal details that are invisible during the day.

8:30 p.m. – End of the Tour + Fruits & Water

We finish the walk and enjoy fresh fruits and cold water before returning to your hotel.

The nocturnal tour offers a unique experience to explore beyond day hikes. In lush forests, you can observe nocturnal wildlife, including amphibians, insects, reptiles, and mammals. Ideal for families, the tour also provides insights into plants and fruit trees.
