Looking for a place to celebrate Independence Day in Costa Rica? Celebrate the 4th of July in a tropical rainforest
Break out your red, white and blue, rehearse the “U-S-A!” chant, and free up space on your phone for copious fireworks photos. Here are two activities you can enjoy with your family and friends on this Independence Day in Costa Rica.
Avenida Escazú
If you’re near Escazú, just west of San José, stop by Avenida Escazú to enjoy live music and fireworks. The concert will feature the band Mustang 65, DJ Sweetbo, the U.S. Air Force’s Airmen of Note, and the CCCN Jazz Orchestra.
There will be kids activities, square dancing, and a classic cars parade as ways to celebrate Independence Day in Costa Rica.
The event starts at 3:00 p.m. and entrance is free. Fireworks are scheduled for approximately 6:00 p.m. For more information, visit Avenida Escazú’s Facebook page.
Marina Pez Vela
If you’re in the Central Pacific, there is a celebration for you as well. Residents of Quepos and visitors to the area, close to Manuel Antonio National Park, will be able to participate in the activities set up by the Marina Pez Vela.
Children can enjoy face painting, games, and inflatables followed by traditional U.S. dances and a live concert with Kin Rivera Jr.
Marina Pez Vela promises there will be hot dogs, apple pie and a spectacular fireworks show.
The Fourth of July celebration starts at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m. Entrance is free and open to the public; for more information, visit their Facebook page.
